Are online waivers legally binding?
In the US, Canada, the UK and the EU, electronic signatures are generally as valid as handwritten ones when the signer agrees to sign electronically and the record is kept accurately. Waivepad records both. Whether a particular waiver holds up depends on its wording and local law, so have yours checked by a lawyer.
Do customers need to download anything?
No. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and sign in the browser. It works on any modern phone, tablet or computer.
Can I use my own waiver text?
Yes. Paste your existing waiver, or start from one of our templates and change any part of it.
What do I give up compared with pricier waiver apps?
Nothing that matters at the front desk. Custom wording and templates, phone and tablet signing, minors, initials, custom questions, emailed copies, expiry and re-signing, search, PDF and CSV export, and tamper-evident records are all included, for less than half the price.
Where is the data stored, and who can see it?
On Cloudflare’s network, encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you can see your signatures after signing in. We never sell or share them.
